Hi, i'm looking for a fast maturing, decent abv beer/cider (preferably beer) recipe from a kit or possibly extract to make when i'm back at Uni as buying crates of Bud is getting expensive and boring (and to get my housemates into brewing). Does anyone have any ideas? I'm not too fussy when it comes to style of beer so any recipes will be appreciated

Coopers stout is a very quick turnaround made with 1kg of dark malt extract. I can drink this within a week of bottling/kegging very tasty too.

+1, I thought it was actually better after a week than after 2 months. tasted like cake. om.

cider will generally take a while to mature, Wherry is on offer for £15 in wilko's at the moment and a very tasty tipple early on.

We also have the Coopers Heritage Wheat in bottles, been in there 2 weeks and it's VERY clean and tasty! :thumb:

Cheers, i've tried that recipe before as my last batch and was impressed with it although i doubt the others in my house will enjoy it as much, looking more along the lines of a bitter for us all.

+1, i'm around the last couple of pints now and it definitely isn't what it was although still a great pint :thumb:
