I have a stainless steel false bottom in my mash tun, would it benefit from some sort of rubber seal around its edge? I had in mind slicing some of Vosseys tubing and slipping it around the edge to help give a little more space for the liquid to collect during mashing. Or is that the wrong way to go and a smaller space is better ?

Try here PD

Some use beer line but you could use other tubing. I found it difficult to split it lengthways evenly so made a little jig out of washers, a screw and a stanley blade, makes it much easier :thumb:

In terms of space under the FB, I bought some stainless steel kitchen door handles, watch out though, the M4 bolts that come with them are not stainless so you need to buy these too. I bolted 3 to each side at 120 degree spacing so I can use then to give a gap under the FB and to lift it out. Its all in the same thread.

thank you kindly gents. I think there's just about enough of Vossey's tubing left to go round,
