Hello folks.

I'm a fairly new to home brewing as I've only done one which was years ago. It was the basic kit which included a tin and the yeast to which I added sugar. It worked and I drank almost all of it.

The reason I am back is that I'm getting married In April and we can't have a paid bar at the venue, so I am going to try and make as much lovely beer as I can for my relatives and friends. I will be mostly asking HUGE amounts of questions so please bear with me.

monkey.

hi there, basic tip dont use sugar or any of those type of things use dried (or liquid) malt instead, use 1g of dried malt per 1 g of sugar this will improve taste , only use sugar for priming after fermentation for bottling .Also allow to ferment a good few days longer than kit says this is also a good idea i'm told. happy brewing

I was planning on leaving it a little longer anyway but the bucket lid is still expanding with gas!

So should I use malt instead of sugar with any kits I buy?

I'm in Ruislip, Outer West London.
