Now then, done a few extract brews from brewuk as they have extract kits with instructions. My question is the amount of priming sugar, I have been doing the usual half teaspoon per pint and the brews are good but the pendle witches brew says it needs an additional 330g of sugar I presume for priming but it's only an 18 litre brew so seems a lot of sugar for priming? So am I right with the half teaspoon per pint or is more needed ?

:hmm: 330g is way too much for priming. I usually go for about 90g if batch priming an ale or 3g if im priming individual bottles. I can only assume that the 330g is intended to be added to the brew as opposed to being used for priming?? :wha:

I don't think the 330g sugar is for priming. I don't have Graham Wheeler's book in front of me but many of his recipes include white sugar in the wort.

Just read the instructions again, yes the sugar is added to the wort at the end !

End of what? End of mixing or end of fermentation? I assume the former as otherwise it's just the same as adding priming sugar.
