I have bought this kit as a Citra Pale Ale Extract, ingredients are 2 packs extract, grains and hops. I thought I would have to do a small boil with the grains and add the hops but the instructions are for a full boil. Can I still do this kit and if so, advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Its unfortunate that the website didn't list the equipment needed for this kit, as I'm assuming you don't have a boiler...

I think you have two choices... Return the kit for a refund or take the Heath Robinson approach and cross fingers...

I would do the following...

Mix the 2 packs of extract with 19L of water.
Steep the grains as per instructions, you will need a digital thermometer, if you don't have one Nisbets have one at 5.99... (you may have a store local to you)

Assuming you now have 23L of wort (19L + 4L from steeping), I would do a mini boils as you suggest. Use your biggest pan, three quarters full of wort. Be very cautious of boil over and be prepared. A fan pointed at the pan will reduce the likelihood of boil over. When done with boiling, cover pan and allow to cool, then add to FV.

I'm sure you'll end up with beer :beer1:

How much can you boil? ACBEV's method sounds good but if you can boil 10l or close I suggest boiling with the steep water and 1 can of extract (and as much water as you can) and adding the second can a few mins before the end of the boil then watering the whole lot down to 23l at the end.
