With growing up in the west country i am by default a massive fan of dry ciders. I thought, why not have a go at a low gravity lager. I decided to brew a bog-standard basic BrewBuddy lager kit from Wilkinsons. Instead of the normal method i used S23 lager yeast and added a pilsner enzyme. After 2 weeks in the primary i wanted to lager this for a month at very low temps, maybe 3 degrees. Due to lack of equipment i ended up just leaving the bucket of lager in the shed for an additional 2 weeks. Anyways,at bottling i took a reading of 1.002. The bottles have been indoors for 1 week today gaining their fizz.

Tonight i gave in and tried a bottle. This lager is going to be mint! Even though it is young and at room temp it tasted really good albeit a bit warm. I named it Olympic Gold Pilsner as i wanted it ready for the Olympics. If i can somehow chill these bottles until the 27th i think i would be onto a winner.
