Hi all,

I'm more used to car forums than home-brewing forums - I'm also used to helping others on forums but this time I'm definitely on the back foot. I have been home-brewing since November 2011 with kits and I've joined up to get some tips on how to improve them - I'll post something specific in a bit. So far I have followed the instructions and had good results with a few Muntons and Brewferm kits. I like the latter for the strong flavour - I made an Ambiorix kit a while ago and have since made Abdij and Diabolo. I no longer buy beer as I love the home-brew taste but I'm not sure I have the patience (or skill) for mashing etc just yet.

Cheers, Huw.

Welcome.... there aint anything wrong with brewing from kits, you can get some great tasting beer.
My advise which you may already have found out, is to use the two can kits of beer, they are far superior to the single cans, and no extra sugar.
Perhaps in time you will try extract and then all grain, who knows, just enjoy making and drinking some fine ale, whatever method.
