Hi all,
Still new to my Brewdevil and AG. So I'm going to ask a daft question.

I'm going to give Greg's ESB a try, do I amend the hops and grain to match my Brewdevil profile in Brewfather app?
The alpha contents of my hops are different to the book, and to match the IBU and EBC I need to tweak the grain bill a bit. Or do I just go with it and see what happens!
Been disappointed with the last brew (speckled hen clone) but think that's cause I'm still learning and probably didn't clean the bottles properly. No head and an off taste that I can't put my finger on.

Yes. Irrespective of your equipment, you need to adjust your brew for the AA of the hops you have rather than the generic values quoted in a recipe, to hit the same target IBU.

The same with grain volume, I'm not sure what efficiency those recipes in the book are calculated for (70%? 75%?) but I get slight less, a consistent 68% mash, so need to use a bit more grain.

That's a nice beer.

Grainbill is not too much of a problem and you can run with it as is or *******ise it to suit your own taste, I would think the colour would not be too far out but as regards your hops you are correct in amending the hops to match the IBU's as every season the same hops will have a different AA grade. so you may need to add more hops if the AA is lower or cut them back if AA is higher or if the lower/higher IBU suits you then go with it

Thanks all.
Will play with the recipe in brewfather to match the IBU.

I used to put the grain bill in as written then set the efficiency so the OG matched the recipe then scaled it to my expected efficiency. Worked fairly well but I was lucky and tended to get 75% brewhouse efficiency which is what I think Greg's recipes are set to, but I've not used them in a while.
