I want to try an APA AG, nothing to complex, soak, sparge, boil, cool, pitch.... anyone recommend a recipe that fits the bill and is typical of an APA, also would like it in KG and grams..i have seen a few recipes tailored to BIAB and american recipes but i cant be arsed with converting

Hopefully someone will be arsed and give you a recipe tailored to you requirements.

Meeeeoow... ga and evanine ganging up on me here. .. have you two got snatches between your legs. .?. thought I had gate crashed a hen party.

anyway... Let me rephrase my original post. I would prefer a recipe that does not need to be converted from ounces into kilo..please. .. I am not quite as old as everyone else here. . I wasnt born before decimalisation. Oooohh the I go again. ....just can't help myself.

All in jest and good faith.

If you google imperial to metric conversion there are plenty of calculators on the web, even ones which converts american imperial to metric. There is also one on windows 7 and even the calculator on my crapberry can manage it.

No excuse.

face up to it loady...you'll just have to go metric...inch by inch

Oh...right PD...your gonna take a bash to :electric: ...im already metric...im a modern day grocer by by trade and i WILL NOT give in to the pounds..unless im baking a cake of course...thats different :wha:

Has anyone got any links to a metric APA recipe they could recommend ??

Thanks to the other poster for the recipe, it has already got imperial/metric measures included so i dont need it converting...had my finger ready to pay you as well ;)

how many ounces in a £ ??...yeah just kidding

it was just one recipe i was looking at it was for instance.. 4lbs 6 oz and i was tired and going to bed and...well you know the rest

american gallons are different too. if you're doing 23L you need about 4.5-5kg for 5.5%, any higher just dunk more grain in.

check here for a basic recipe, one i brewed the other day -

Just 40-70 IBUs, then a **** tonne of aroma hops and you're away. A pretty nice Citra apa can be made with just 100g. Bittering, a few 10-5 min additions and a good 60g to dry hop.
