Hi

I have read a few posts on here about butchering tesco kettles for the elements, but as it seems a bit dodgy I wondered if anyone could recommend a method not quite so Heath Robinson? :electric:

Do not take risks contact Backer Electrical for Elements they do 3 kW and 2.5 kW elements with leads you only need to drill the holes

I used the kettle elements for a while with varying success so when I upgraded my boiler I went for one of THESE although being rated at 4kw I find it does need a voltage regulator for control.

Or you could go for the 2kw version HERE.

They don't come with a cover but you can mount it through an adaptable box like this. I drilled a 32mm hole for it iirc. Also, it didn't have a locknut with it either, but I got one from the local hardware shop for 50p, inch bsp.
