Me and Mrs Tea are having a little dispute i hope someone here can answer this.

I have a light that has four 240/40w halogen bulbs in it at today's prices how much does this cost to run per hour?

Thanks in advance.

at the rate we are on it will cost around 2p an hour mate.

For years and years i got comments such as "your'e paying the electric bill" because i fall asleep a lot with the telly on. My mum was the worse culprit when i moved back in for a few years. Woe betide if i left a light on when not in the room. Since i moved back out her electricity bill has dropped by hundreds, apparently :hmm:. The flat i live in now has a coin meter which proves i use nowhere near the amount of juice that she claimed.

Should an electricity dispute arise between me and the misses now. all we have to do is note how much money is on the meter and work it out from that.

I wound the misses up the other day. When she was half way through her shower i walked in said something like "Youve already used up 20p, thats it for today". If looks could kill i wouldn't be posting this message.

I had to work it out when starting biab just incase there wasn't enough on the metre. ours is 13p per kw/h. normally costs a few quid for a brewday.

Chippytea, have a look at my new post, rocket stove, it might save on your fuel bills, Dave
