I would like to try adding elderflowers to my next beer kit ,probably an IPA ,but don't know how to go about it.

I tried a few pints of Wye Valley Flower Power last summer and thought it was one of the finest beers I've ever tasted.
The landlord of a small real ale pub in Droitwich told me he'd sold 9 firkins in a week when I went there because I heard he had it on tap, unfortunately I was too late he'd sold the lot.

For 23ltrs I added 30g for 20min at 80c. That was using fresh flowers.
Turned out to be a nice pint.

I have tried to dry the flowers and freeze them, with limited success.
Think this year I'll make a cordial for later brews

Thanks , I've never done anything but kits so do I do as you say and then strain and add the liquid to the wort and then start to ferment?

Sorry PF just realised its kits not mashing.

Might be best making a cordial and adding that to the kit, lots of cordial recipes about :thumb:
