has anyone put elderflower wine kit into beer to ferment
are there any pro's or con's to it
would it need any extra finning
what should i do about hopping ?
what would scooby doo?

No but I've used fresh and dried elderflowers to mixed results. In a 5gallon batch I found 20g of flowers to be nice over 50g bliddy horrible

I had been toying with the idea of using dried elderflower in a muslin bag ,a la dry-hopping ,and removing prior to pitching yeast but never got around to it .Interesting thread.....when you say "elderflower wine kit" ,what do you mean ?

ive put dried elderflower in the boil for last 5 or 10 mins,
give it a nice mouth feel but quiet a bitter after taste
but my cousin was here over the weekend did not know i brewed and quiet enjoyed it
he did comment on the after taste but said if in a pub he would still go back for another pint as it was intriguing

next time i think i will put in a bag and infuse in the fermented product when i rack off before bottling

i have a youngs 900g country wine kit mostly hoping it would add a subtle spring summer flavour maybe 450g in a 5gallon brew
