elder flower and lime cider

OK she who must be obeyed has decreed that i must make the above as she had a bottle on a night out http://www.findkopparberg.com/cider
and she is so impressed with my efforts in my new found hobby. She now thinks im some kind of mater brewer have any of you nice kind
people got an idea or recipe that I can use as a starting block.
do I make the elderflower and lime and mix with a cider kit??
do I try and brew the whole thing together?

I would be tempted to brew the cider kit and then add the lime and elderflower at the end. That way you will keep the lime and elderflower aroma and taste. If you add at the beginning you will probably loose the lime and elderflower taste and aroma during fermentation. Or you could do a mixture of the two.

I started a Magnum elderflower cider kit at the weekend

It comes with elderflower flavouring added at the end, i too would guess that like with goldings hopps the flavour would diminish during brewing hence added at end

found out my "she who must be obeyed" isn't mad keen on elderflower so may reduce this by 25% and supplement with concentrate lime juice. If it works for kopperberg ?

When i made my desperado (mexican black rock and sierra tequila) I was told to buy a similar tasting lager and then add the tequila ml by ml with a syringe which worked out well ( and a fun sunday afternoon! :thumb: )

So would suggest something similar with elderflower cordial and lime and a plain cider compared with kopperberg.

just to warn think some preservatives in the lime may have killed off some of my fizz so be careful if you want a fizzy cider out of the bottle.

Either bring to boil or use fresh lime
