Up at 0530 as the only prep last night was to full the RO bucket.

First time using Bairds Malt that came from the local Micro. The whole bag is crushed, I never thought to ask!

Simple brewday, 5 points short though, could be the malt or the crush.

In the no chill cubes, yeast at the ready.

Yes, from the Maltmiller. I don’t often no chill, just when I need a quick brew day.

I love a smash recipe. Multi purpose hops, really shine through. Simple and sensible. Bit of a cascade smash fan.

Thanks for the checker plate fridge shelf idea. I will steal that. Loads of checker plate scrap.

This turned out very well, but not the pint it was supposed to be.

I skipped the dry hop which was a mistake but it has a great mouthfeel and taste. Drinks far too well though and makes a perfect summer drink at 4.2%.

Light and subtle, little bitterness with a small fruity flavour.

I’m sh1te with descriptors.

Served cold from a keg is much more ‘lager’ like. Exceptionally clean and refreshing.

I really liked the El Dorado smash I did a few months back but felt it was missing something. I was going to do a Simco smash but felt lazy and added both together. I'm kegging tonight and really hoping this turns out as planned.

That's a good description for a summer ale. My cascade (smash) is the same.
