They call it Rhino Farts. Cider produces sulphur something-or-other when it's fermenting, that's what you can smell. It's fine :)

i also had it with a ginger beer last year bottled it ... but it still has an odour... :?

i have used two yeasts mixed together b4 ...is there good reason not to do this... im beginning to wonder about that practice,

ive used youngs super yeast compound with a kit sachet before .. not noticed problems though... :wha:

Sulphur dioxide ? maybe - that's the one that I recall smells 'eggy'

someone told me that if you get that smell from cider the yeast needs more nutrients.

regardless, the smell will go away over time.

Ive done three 5 gallon cider kits and one smelt of rotten eggs whilst the other 2 never. i put it down (so i was told) to not steralising all my equipment proper. so i just bottled it left it for 6 months and when i opened the bottles it never smelt and tasted great. :thumb:
