Does anybody know how long the sanitiser ie Chemsan will remain effective if mixed to the correct proportions.
Have a spray bottle for use on small items of kit etc, that i empty and re-fill with new sanitiser every time i bottle/brew

Months. I just keep a 5L plastic jerry can of star san that I reuse constantly. Every so often I test it with those cheapo ph strips you can get 1 million for a pound off ebay. As long as the ph is below 3.5 it's fine. If it's creeping above I just add 1/8th of a teaspoon or so of more star san and that gets it back below. I've had my 12oz (or is it 8oz) bottle of star san for about 5 years and theres still about 1/8th left in it

My water is quite high alkalinity so recently have been using bottled or distilled for mixing up a spray bottle of starsan. I also have started testing pH regularly and it has stayed way below 3.5 for ages. Absolute godsend not having to mix some up everytime you need a couple of squirts just to treat a couple of bits of tube, paddle etc.
