Hey folks gonna use this yeast in a Pumkin spiced beer - Save all opinions on the style for another thread Whats folks experience of this yeast and more importantly whats been the results at which temp? My recipe is below!
Golden Promise -80%
Biscuit Malt -10%
Imperial Malt - 5%
Brown sugar - 5%
Northern Brewer hops 20 IBU approx (some 60 min additions and some 10 and 5 min additions)
'Pumpkin' spices 10 min before the end of the boil
I'll add some brown sugar to up the ABV a little as I was initially going for a Dogfish Head Punkin' clone, some pumpkin spice about 10 min before the end of the boil IBU's are about 20 and I'll use Northern Brewer as I think the flavour's might go well with the spices.
OK so I'm planning on using WLP028 Edinburgh Ale yeast for a good malty finish but there is some conflicting views on a fermentation temp. I'm aiming for 20c rather than the 16-18c some people have talked about in other forums.
