Hi!

I was wondering if you might be able to help me out. I've done a few wines but no beer yet, so I picked up a big fermentation vessel and an Edme German-style Lager kit (sounded easy enough) - only to get home and find there are no instructions!

How do I put this together? It seems like it should be simple enough (warm the tin in water, open it and pour it out, mixed with sugar syrup, and let it do its thing, then rack) but diving in via complete guesswork sounds like a recipe for disaster. Any tips?

Thanks!

If you carefully peel off the label the destructions are printed on the reverse :thumb:

It's blank! Thanks - so close and yet so far.. says on the back that they'd be under the cap, but weren't. Bugger.

Hi

Normal procedure would be:

warm can of extract
pour into fv
add 3L boiling water
add any additional sugar
mix well
make up to 23L (or whatever your volume is) with cold water
check temp
pitch yeast

ferment

drink

Sorry I haven't done one of these kits so won't be much help someone will be along soon and set you on the right path :D

Ah I see someone has :thumb:

I've never made up any of these kits but the standard kit making procedure above should do the trick :thumb:

Great, let us know how you get on, remember to sterilise everything the same way that you do for wine and pitch the yeast at around 18 - 22c
