Drying hops without a dehydrator or screen+fan

Someone has handed my dad a bag of fresh hops, but I can't pisk them up until next week. What's the best way for him to dry them? He has no dehydrator, he has a fan but will not build a screen to put the hops in.

He can spread them out on any flat surface and let them air dry.

As @MrRook says, I got a load last year and spread them out on a windowsill.

I didn't use a fan. I had a horrible picture in my mind of the hops being blown all over by a fan.

I dried most of my hops on trays in my electric fan oven on the defrost setting, where air recirculates but there is negligible if any heat input. It took about two days. If you weigh the trays from time to time you know when they are done since the weight eventually bottoms out. Weight loss is quick to start with then slows up. This year my dry hops were about 23-24% of the as picked weight.
