Also interested on people's opinions on this.. I currently wait until right near the end of fermentation, dry hop in primary for 4 days or so, then primary gets crash cooled for a week and then bottled. I use whole hops currently

you can do this by adding hops to the fermenter when fermentation has finished, in a secondary fermenter off the yeast is preferable or what I do is add the hops to the barrel. I always find about 1-2 weeks is needed. I love dry hoped beer, highly recommend doing so :thumb:

That's exactly what I am planning to do with my Canadian blonde kit tonight. Just finished primary fermentation. Dry hopping with Strylan goldings for about a week before bottling

Also consider dry-hopping in the barrel (post fermentatiion). Did that once where the recipe included this. So a few grams of hops in a sock in the barrel until I finished the beer, excellent hoppy aroma every pint.
