Dry hopping arms race.

I read the article, so I assume you are using their hops.

Personally, I'd forget the mosaic, it's probabaly my least favorite hop.
To each their own.

Split batch dry hop? 22g/L vs 8g/L

Yes going to try and split 50/50. First half 1 day after active fermentation starts and second in the keg.

Going to opt for predominantly Citra and also some Mosaic (sorry beertrap but I love Mosaic!). Have ordered 1kg of each from Get Er Brewed, so dent in the wallet isn't going to be too hard to bear! I've also bought 1kg of vic secret and am tempted to try that in the mix, anyone used it before?

By the way I built my Cloudwater recipe from the following spreadsheet released by the brewery:

Interesting piece on less is more. And further info on the diastatic nature of hops.

That was an interesting read, though to be honest it doesn't align with my experience of large dry hopping quantities. In my experience more does equal more when it comes to hops, although that being said I haven't done a side-by-side comparison.
The most intensely hoppy homebrew I've had was @stigman's NEIPA which had a crazy 500g dry hop.

The take home point for me was the change in character as rate increases. Admittedly, as I don't bother brewing NEIPAs I've not gone above 11g/L, however, the low threshold of citrusy aromas does chime with my experience, whilst I do get a more general hop intensity.

It's a great article. The dry hop + yeast causing extra fermentation is interesting and I wonder if you could pasteurise hops without affecting the flavour before a dry hop.

The details in that spreadsheet make for interesting reading. DIPA v3.1 is possibly my all time favorite pale. I tried both v3 2018 and 3.1, and 3.1 tasted much better to me.

3 2018 is dry hopped with close to 8g/L, while 3.1 has 24g/L!

Something in the changes from 3 to 3.1 made for a better beer for me, so I am happy to continue with big dry hop schedules
