Ever had a job that required you to drive for your work? It’s not just delivery and taxi drivers, but obviously plumbers, electricians etc will drive ‘at work’.

Well, according to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, “More people are killed and injured in at-work road accidents than in all other occupational accidents put together” so if you did drive for work, perhaps you should consider yourself lucky to be alive..!

So, never mind firemen and construction workers supposedly having the highest fatality rate – turns out anyone driving for work is at the most risk!

So, who drives for their work, and how many accidents have you had while driving for work, and have you ever had a work related accident that wasn’t to do with driving??

im a comms engineer on the motorways and drive permanently

touch wood not had one in 10 years out there
only done 30k this year but some of our lads do 50k or so a year

its the other road users who are the pain
during the summer you get people who only drive on motorways on holidays
other than that its shop runs only

I'm a mobile engineer. Spent 4 hrs driving around the midlands in the last 8 hrs. I must be on borrowed time. Been driving for work since 1999. And never had a single bump or ticket in that time. Nor had any work related accidents. I'm boring ain't I!

I have had a couple of beauties while out on Emergency plumbing calls but none my fault.

A few years ago I was stationary outside a customers house just about to get out of the van when someone hit me head on at about 60MPH.
The driver had been taken ill at the wheel and passed out. Lucky I wasn't half out of the van or I would be a gonner for sure.

My van weighs about 3100kg and it was pushed 20 yards down the road and through a wall.

I'm a sales rep and do about 38-40k a year. Never had an accident until last year when I had three collisions in about 6 weeks. None of them were above 10mph fortunately.
