For Stella Artois Cidre please read SWEET FIZZY APPLE JUICE. Thats it. That is all there is to it. It's just another SWEET CIDER (with a sour citrus after taste).

Lets be honest Mick - did you expect anything else?

No Calum I didn't. Got it for the Mrs. She didn't want a whole bottle so we just shared it. Even she wasnt impressed.

Wasn't planning on trying it, but thanks for the warning Mick.

Im pleased I could be of servise Dennis. :D

wife tried some she was not impressed either, not bought it since

she now drinks home brew wine

and the odd bottle of fruity cider on offer at bargain booze

we had a bottle of our 1 year old tc today and it was fookin great...

well rounded, appley and silky, we made it still and bottled into wine bottles,
it is almost a cross between a wine and cider... :drunk:

i made it in 5 gallon batches when the apple juice was cheap.. ;)
and have managed to keep quite a few in storage...

I never expected this Crap to be any good CIDRE for gods sake & Belgian Cidre, I wasn't aware The Belgians were known for even making CIDER, Brittany and Normandy parts of France yes but not Belgium, I Think the nearest Belgium Gets to Cider apart from this new crappy product Is Lambic Fermented Beers.

Now I have said all that I'm sure someones going to come along and prove me wrong

UP

I like a good rough westcountry scrumpy. I remember getting realy drunk at a race meeting at Castle Combe in Wiltshire on something straight from a local farm. It was behind the bar in an orange plastic barrel and when poured looked like Orange Juice. Tasted fantastic..... apparently I was wondering around the paddock bar at 1am showing people pictures of my dog on my phone saying "have you seen my dog dog"   Happy Days............

Going to the west country to spend a week getting pissed on scrumpy was a right of passage amongst my friends when I was a teenager, many years ago. Used to buy it from farmhouses, .25p a gallon. Just wish I could remember it better, have photos of places I can't remember, happy days.

I've gotta say...

I really like Stella Cidre!

I bought 12 bottles of it to provide me with some bottles for my TC and getting through them was an absolute pleasure!

Each to their own, I suppose...

Cheaper and so much nicerr :)

+1 to that :thumb:

Thatchers Cheddar Valley is orange and dangerously drinkable at around 6% - my old local used to serve it throughout the summer

Stella Cidre has issued a product recall (12 pack i think) because of danger of exploding bottles
Edit; Old thread i know just thought i'd warn people
