donner and blitzen kit started will be 14 days tommorow from start added yast and left kept checking temp each day
original 1038 current 1012 over 4 days
stired lightly twice when brewing to reactivate whats left

but may barrel and bottle tommorow or next week but cant find instructions thinking of adding dark malt and some sugar can u please help how much
 
you want to add half a teaspoon of sugar to the bottles. Same for barrel so if your adding say 30 pints of beer to barrel you would need 15 teaspoons. Dont know about dark malt though ive never used it
 
you want between 4 and 6g per litre for an ale depending on how carbonated you like it. Thats for sugar, dry malt its between 60-80% fermentable so you have to use around a third more than if you were using sugar
 
barreled and bottled today but a bit worried this is the first 2 can kit i have done and

when transfering little lumps came through siphon tube most went into bottles as i did these 12 first then rest in barrel and not much went into that

at the end there was a lot of gunge stuff more than what i would usally have from a 1 can kit i am used too

temp was kept between 19 and 21 in shed
so is it spoiled or am i worrying too much
will post pics when know how too
 
sounds like its just bits of the yeast cake, nothing to worry about you will just have more sediment in your bottles
