I have recently bought a mini regulator from MM. With my full size gas/corny setup, I have a check valve on the gas line to protect my regulator. My question is, if I use a 5L SS keg and this mini regulator with a low serving pressure, is there a danger that, if the beer warms slightly, for example if out at a BBQ, is there a danger that the CO2 will come out of solution, increasing the pressure inside the minikeg and thus sending beer to the regulator? I.e, do I need a check valve for this regulator?

Ordinarily, a Regulator is its own Check-Valve so "No."

If you think about it, a Regulator shuts off the pressure when it reaches a certain pressure and only allows CO2 to flow into the keg when the pressure falls.

When the pressure is at the required level, the Regulator closes off the supply of CO2 ...

... and it will stay closed if the pressure in the keg increases.

Enjoy!
