Looked around, they have all the ingredients I use a lot. Will give them a try and hope they send it.

I've had the same thought...make a small order, then you only loose a few bob. The only reason I asked was there's been a couple of dodgy sites over the years. :nono:

Credit/Debit card chargebacks

When you contact your credit card company to report a transaction as unknown or not authorised - this is known as a "chargeback".

We supply the name "Fayre Maiden Foods Limited" to your credit card company. however, the name that will appear on your statement for any credit card transaction made with us may be altered by them to meet their own specifications. It is very important you do not contact your credit card company and report this transaction as unknown to you if the order has been delivered and signed for. If you feel there is a problem with your order you must contact us in writing (letter or email) to resolve the problem. Canceling the transaction with your credit card company will be considered theft or fraud and your details will be passed to the relevant authority for further investigation. This may result in us making a claim against you, could damage your credit rating and/or affect your ability to buy online in the future.

If a transaction is charged back to you and proof of delivery is available, we reserve the right to either:

A) Re-charge the credit card to used to make the payment for the full amount, plus an additional £30 to cover our administration costs.

or

B) Issue a claim via the appropriate legal service - This may affect your credit rating and leave CCJ's against you.

If you request a chargeback after a refund has been issued, you will be liable for a charge of £30 to cover our administration costs and any charges made to us. Credit card protection regulations ensure your account is automatically credited when a chargeback is issued. If a refund has already been made, a further chargeback will be considered theft or fraud and appropriate legal action may be taken against you.

Not if what nobyipa said is true, GoodLifeHomebrew have a shop in Norwich that does excellent trade, and you can contact them very easily by phone or email

Kin Hell....at least I know now...like I said, you have to be careful, we've had the odd bad site....I won't be bothering with an order. :nono:

There is a lot of incorrect information in the below statement from them.

Credit/Debit card chargebacks

When you contact your credit card company to report a transaction as unknown or not authorised - this is known as a "chargeback".

--------

Not correct, when you contact your credit card company to report an unauthorised transaction this is a Dispute. The dispute will then be investigated by the Credit card company. They will ask the shop to provide proof that it was a genuine transaction, if the shop cannot provide this the dispute will be resolved in the cardholders favour. The Credit card company will issue you with a refund, then they, the Credit card company will perform a charge back against the shop to reclaim the money.

---------

We supply the name "Fayre Maiden Foods Limited" to your credit card company. however, the name that will appear on your statement for any credit card transaction made with us may be altered by them to meet their own specifications.

------------

This is highly unlikely, the credit card company would normally use the description passed in on the transaction to put on the statement.

---------------

It is very important you do not contact your credit card company and report this transaction as unknown to you if the order has been delivered and signed for.

---------------

That bit is true, if you received it you shouldn't pretend you didn't as that is Fraud.

---------------

If you feel there is a problem with your order you must contact us in writing (letter or email) to resolve the problem.

-----------------

In the first instance yes, although it doesn't have to be in writing but that is more sensible so you have proof of contact, but if the shop is unhelpful then you can go to your credit card company if the goods are not as described or not fit for purpose.

---------------

Canceling the transaction with your credit card company will be considered theft or fraud and your details will be passed to the relevant authority for further investigation. This may result in us making a claim against you, could damage your credit rating and/or affect your ability to buy online in the future.

----------------

You cannot cancel a transaction with your credit card company, you can only dispute it, the Credit card company decide how to proceed.
There is no way it can impact your Credit rating or affect your ability to buy online in future.

------------------

If a transaction is charged back to you and proof of delivery is available, we reserve the right to either:

A) Re-charge the credit card to used to make the payment for the full amount, plus an additional £30 to cover our administration costs.

------------------

It wouldn't get to this point as the Credit card company would have already done the investigation. Anyway the shop would be in dispute with the Credit card company, not you as the customer.

--------------

or

B) Issue a claim via the appropriate legal service - This may affect your credit rating and leave CCJ's against you.

--------------

The shop cannot claim against you, only the Credit Card company, it cannot affect your credit rating or result in a CCJ.

-----------------

If you request a chargeback after a refund has been issued, you will be liable for a charge of £30 to cover our administration costs and any charges made to us. Credit card protection regulations ensure your account is automatically credited when a chargeback is issued. If a refund has already been made, a further chargeback will be considered theft or fraud and appropriate legal action may be taken against you.

-----------------

As said before, the customer cannot request a charge back, only the credit card company can. As part of the dispute process the Credit Card company will check your account to see if you have had a refund.

I won't be using them based on the above alone.

Will probably cancel the charge on my card.

Telephone Calls

Our philisophy:
We keep our prices low at discount brew by cutting our overheads to the bone. This means we will respond to emails as fast as possible, but we WILL NOT talk to you on the phone.
Whilst we share the facilities of a couple of other companies we are not the same institutions and they will not talk to you either.

If you need to get in touch email us using [email protected], or use our contacts section to email us.

If your order is short or late use [email protected] quoting your order number (this is essential). This site is for people who know what they want and need a good price. Many thanks for your understanding.

Very poor in my opinion.

Also, are they really trying to convince people Citra hops RRP for £7.50

If you track the director of Fayre Maiden it looks a bit dodgy, serial company creator/dissolver, all from that farm.
Maybe just entrepreneurial struggling to find something that works, but...
And he is listed as the owner of goodlifehomebrew on their own pages
So, odd that that one is a fairly well trusted brand but this new one may be iffy
Maybe on the edge of going under (with both)?

Well I got a refund just now. But he says he emailed about swapping some hops, but it went to my junk and I didn't see it. Fast with the refund. He says if I reorder I can have them by Friday, seems OK from my experience so far, bar the email going to the junk.

They don't look that cheap to me, and no mention of where the malt is from.... :wha:

I'll be sticking with Rob
