Having bought my Ballihoo kit I'm attempting to brew my first beer (Wherry) but have come unstuck when siphoning the beer into my pressurized barrel for bottling. When trying to readjust myself the siphon tube slipped out the beer and the yeast sediment has risen from the the bottom to the top. This happen just over halfway through and id already add the sugar solution for approx 40 pints to the barrel (20 teaspoons). There is about a third of the beer still in the fermentation bucket.

Shall I just leave it and wait for it to settle again? Then add it to the rest of the beer

or

Should i just accept that i've lost the remaining amount and carry on know that there's probably too much sugar solution for the beer in the pressurized barrel....

wish i had got a helping hand to get me through this stage. Brand new to this game so any advise is appreciated. Thanks

Personally I would carry on and syphon the rest into the barrel. The sediment will settle to the bottom and provided you don't move it too much, shouldn't make it into your glass.

Again agree. When I started homebrewing I was obsessed with not getting much sediment transfer, but then if you're using priming sugar it's going to generate a little more sediment anyway so it's like cleaning your kid's wellies before they go jumping in puddles.

thanks fellow brewers.........i left it half an hour and continued, will take extra care when pouring. I'm slowly learning brewing isn't a exact science. I'll aim for perfection but try not panic if something doesn't go exactly to plan
