ok so I started my keg of apa last week and usually the whole keg will drain without additional co2. 10 or so pints in I lost pressure and air gulped in, because I haven't needed it I didn't have any co2. One solution I've considered to save 30 ish pints is to bottle it in primed bottles. Will this work or is this one to chalk down to experience?

Yes I know I could go and get some co2 but the air is already in.

If you have already added sugar etc to the keg when you transfeered from fv then it wont work. I would get a few mates round and guzzle the rest
:wha: What won't work? You can always re-prime some bottles and transfer the beer over, there will still be plenty of yeast to perform a secondary (tertiary?) ferment in the bottles

Rich, just because a gulp of air got in all is not lost. Very little of that air will have been absorbed on it's way through the beer and what did should be mopped up by the yeast still in suspension. Oxygen transfer requires substantial agitation. The air that is on top of the beer will be displaced by the C02 layer already there as it's denser than the air, ie, the air will sit above the C02 that's on top of the beer. The only question is did a bacteria/fungus get in with the air...probably not :hmm:
I'd still drink it asap JIC, but you have nothing to lose bottling, other than your time. If you have doubts about the yeast use a more highly attenuative strain :thumb:

Cheers vossy,
I've had a pint of it a night every night this week and it's been fine. Works for me the keg's for guzzling the bottles are the ones that deserve the 'long' condition

I've been subjected to oxygen too and the results wern't catastrophic, just not desirable. If you can suck it up you can still enjoy a pint.

how are you pouring now then? I would suggest priming again if anything. Go for quite a large amount and the pressure release valve will activate purging any excess oxygen out. Can't see why that wouldn't work...
