I've got the "Maplin" one, worked fine for about a year, but has now thrown a wobbly.
It reads fine at -25 and 100C, but inbetween is rubbish.
It reads 34 when the temp is 20.

We use digi thermometers all the time at work. By far the biggest cause of them breaking is people bending the probe cord too sharply, this seems to damage the wire inside leading to crazy reading which jump about all over the place.

This could well be the case, as one time it was working fine and the next it wasn't!
