So far, I brewed 6 kits that I've sampled...

First 3 were brewed with granulated sugar. Last 3 were with brewing sugar...

First brew, I only added 90g of sugar to 21l. Second I added 160g to 20l and third was 145 to 21l. First brew was quite flat (especially considering it was a lager). But, that's due to me reading info on the forum, and getting confused. Realised afterwards that that amount of sugar is for when kegging. Second I used 160g as the kit said to use that much for bottling, this was on a Stout, and came out a little over carbonated. Suppose this is also due to the 3l less beer. Third brew, was still over carbonated, and thinking back, I should've used about 120g...

Next three brews I carbonated with brewing sugar. First was a wheat beer, brewed to 15l and added 120g sugar. Third was a better brew IPA and added 115g to 21l. Finally, I had the Burton Bridge Summer Ale, where I added 120g to 22l... All three of these taste really nice. The carbonation seems to be much smoother than brew 2 and 3. This may all be unrelated, and just due to the fact that I actually used correct amounts of carbonation for what I brewed :p. But, from now on, I will only be using brewing sugar to prime. It's only double the price, and for the amount of sugar used, means that it cost me about 25p rather than 12p to carbonate. For me, that's negligable...

Finally, I would probably suggest to add around 160g sugar to this kit. Gonna be bottling mine in around a week, and will be looking to use that much :thumb:
