I have 6 x 27L FV in my garage. In order to make the process less messy, I am considering permenantly linking them together, along with various valves and pump(s) to make a micro-factory. Most of this is commonplace - but there is one bit I cant seem to see if it will work - degassing using agitation. My idea is to suck from the bottom of the FV, and pump out 'over' the top of the wine, like a little fat fountain in the FV. My FV are 'bottle' shaped BetterBrewing 27L things. The idea is that this would cause a swirl effect, like using a wand, but also a splashing effect which many have used to good effect. The question is - will this work?

Degassing works on the principle of pressure differential.
So if you had a nozzle on the end of a pump outlet it would degas rather well.
A paddle on the end of a wand driven by an electric drill works on the same principle the fast rotating paddle causes cavitation causing the co2 to come out of solution.
If the nozzle was a venturi you would not even need splashing.

Seems like a lot of effort though don't forget all your piping and pumps etc, will have to be wine/beer proof.

Sounds like a bit of a pain to clean and sanitise all that stuff.
Personally I've never degassed a wine. Can't see the point as you only save a few weeks on letting it degas naturally.

If the system is basically sealed, and im making the same stuff again and again, I see little danger of outside bugs getting in - but lets see eh? ;-) I am going to have a flushing cycle between each movement of wine, first with plain water, then with sterilizer, then again with water.

This.

I’m not a wine brewer but when I have done kits I’ve just left them in the FV for a month or 2 to clear and de gas.

Most have come out very tasty.
