i have one of these degassing things and i was totally underwhelmed, the degassing with this bit of kit takes forever.tried and tried with it,but in the end it was far too slow and too much like hard work, so what i do now is ,rack it off and half way through just give it a bluddy good shake, then at three quarters, and carry on like that, this seems to work for me.seriously over estimated bit of kit,not used mine for yonks.

Hi Barrylewis, my home made de gasser works a treat and will de gas a 5 gallon batch in 2 minutes, thats with waiting for the bubbles to die down before stirring again until no more bubbles are seen on the surface, very easy to make, take a 2ft length of plastic rod and cut 2-- 3 inch lengths off one end, drill a cross hole in each length and use a stainless steel key split ring to join the 3 pieces, place the other end in a drill and when the gizmo spins the arms flail out and de gas the wine, my local home brew shop sells these for around £12, cheers Dave NE

I use one of these and an electric drill, they cost under £10.
