Been having a look around and am a little confused about what the numbers mean in recipes when i see this being used. I.E Caramel/Crystal Malt - 60L or Caramel/Crystal Malt - 120L. Can anyone shed some light on this for me please.

This is how dark it is on the Lovibond scale. The bigger the number, the darker the wort it produces. Also with Crystal Malt I believe it gives a more roasty taste, the darker it is.

Cheers bolty, that makes sense. I use EBC instead of the lovibond scale thats what was throwing me.
