I heard on the radio today that the Best Before date on all packets of Crisps will be on a Saturday. Anyone got any proof of that to hand. Strangely we have no crisps in the house??????.

Seabrooks, cheese and onion dated 12th march, which is, yes you've guessed it, a Saturday.
This is earth shattering news!

This is because normally dry stock rotation in pubs and clubs is on a Friday, therefore, sell by dates are on a Saturday to ensure sales up to and including stock rotation day.

I had to google that so that explanation may be an urban myth.

It's not to do with the Pubs, It's because they work in a weekly BBE allocation dates at the factories and most factories count the end of the week as Saturday and sunday is a new week. Also because it's a BBE too. If it was a Use by date it would be on a specific date from manufacture. Also, most manufacturers then reduce the life if that date falls on Xmas day.... As no one in store to take off shelves if it goes out of date.
