Probaly don't want to increase the price to cover the Paypal costs....it's a great payment method but it is costly.

Well, I am Chairman, Web master, and Technical Editor of Brewers Contact . . . other than that I have nothing whatsoever to do with them :grin:

One of the things the committee has been hard at work trying to do, is to improve the 'value' of being a member of the CBA, lots of things are in the pipeline

Yeah, that was a major discussion point. I was all for adding the Paypal fees to the transaction, but other committee members voted against it

its not strictly legit put you can recieve payments for "free" by sending the payment as a gift?

a "donation" could be classed as a gift? but yeah, better to keep it legit, no-one is covered in the case of a gift & paypal can be a royal pain to deal with...

Fair enough but you better tell them to discount those who pay via a 'pay free' method.... :nono:
I'm not being funny T, but it's a fair point, why should Paypal take a slice of a payment from some, whilst those that pay direct don't get a discount...that's a bit screwed up....as a 'buyer' you have to accept the costs associated with YOUR payment methods, otherwise the SELLER has to take it into account.
If there's no benefit to the buyer why not pay via Paypal...then only the seller loses :hmm:

I think paypal fees are about 5% for the convenience of paying by paypal, personally I would be happy to pay the extra (which at 5% of £15 is £0.75)

If that gets implimented that I will pay the extra, not only is it more convenient a payment method for me it also meant that I had almost instant access to the site as my payment was instantly confirmed rather than having to wait for a cheque to arrive through the post and then to clear.

I suppose there is an element of wanting the instant access associated instant online payment methods that my & younger generations want.

That aside as I can see that this seems to be a good group to be a member of, I would not like to think that I have cost more than any other member of the group.

This is turning out to be a much better thread than I had hoped, to be honest all I was expecting was a few replies saying either yes, they are an awesome group, or no, they are ***** :)
