At least the people that have the health problems related to alcohol have paid some money into the system that has treated them by the way of the tax on the booze.
I would suggest that isn't the case with the other drugs costing society ££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££'s per year in treatment, crime etc etc etc
I agree there is a drink problem in the UK, however its not a new problem, and considerably smaller than it used to be, its just that the politicians don't get the revenue they used to from cigarettes therefore they need to squeeze it out from somewhere else.
And by far the biggest proportion of problems come from Cheap Cider Spirits and Wine not Beer.
Before I get off my soapbox, don't believe all the crap these supposed University experts spout, they will release the Facts the politicians paying their Vast "Research Grants" want them to publish.
Margaret Thatcher did it in the 80's with Fossil Fuel green energy research, & created the "Global Warming Fiasco" to boot, oh and any scientist that disputed the facts from her elected research groups had their Money Cut off straight away.
Just think how much green taxes are costing us all.
Just Remember this though as alcohol can be bad for your health.
Too Much Booze = BAD
Just enough = GOOD :drink:
