Apologies if a silly question but can't find an obvious answer on the net. Does the flow control intertap fit straight on to the post disconnect that the beer line would attach to or do you need a specific one?
Sort of. You need a shank that screws into the back of it and at the other end, you screw in a black disconnect. I just had a look on darkfarm.co.uk and it appears @Gareth Davies either doesn't sell them any more or is currently out of stock. I bought one off him for £25 about 18 months ago and its the dogs balls. Not sure if it came with a disconnect though. I see someone sent you a link to a similar product but it seems rather expensive at £56.

Its the price of the flow control tap that makes it more expensive I would imagine, you could go with 3/16 line off keg and mount a cheaper tap like the brass chrome one to get costs down on a pice of wood

They vary in price by quite a bit. Perhaps I just stumbled on a really great deal but most places were charging quite a bit. You can get them on ebay for about £20.

This is what I have, except I have a disconnect screwed directly into the back of it. Now, I do not know if it is a simple case of just buying one of these and adding your own disconnect. I got one that I had to search online for the bit the disconnect screws into. Took me ages to find it on ebay and it came from China.

The problem with those ones, is the lack of control over the flow of beer. Your only way of controlling it is with the regulator, which isn't ideal. Having said that, I generally have my flow control lever fully opened but occasionally, like earlier today, I need to adjust it slightly so I don't get a glass of foam.

Now I've had the chance to finish the cardboard princess castle in the garden I've had a chance to look through everyone's advice. Much appreciated and now I know what I need to upgrade the party tap to get better beer. Most all in one systems seem to be out of stock so will probs have to buy the flow tap, the disconnect and the MFL adapter separately. Anyone see any issues with doing it that way or with getting intertap from eBay?

Shouldn't be any issues. Standard shank with the flow tap, adaptor will fit it and standard screw in disconnect should fit into the adaptor.

Managed to get a 170cm tall larder fridge for £30, just bought the 2 keg premium kit from brewkegtap which will ship soon hopefully. Looking forward to starting to keg rather than bottling!!!!

I'm a moron that's still getting to understand cornys and whatnot. How do you serve straight from the keg though? I thought it needed to be attached to a tap?

You can get taps that attach straight to the keg post, or as I'm doing the taps will attach to the door of the fridge with beer line coming from keg.

His website says 3-4 days to process but then I think it's next day DPD, I ordered my tap kits last Wednesday so hopefully will get my order Tuesday or Wednesday but he's a one man band by the looks so could take longer, eBay orders came within the time limit.

Also ordered another keg and tap on Wednesday.

Just got my 1st corny and I have a pilsner crash cooling now. Am I right in thinking I pressurise to 30 psi to seat the lid and then drop the pressure to 12 psi ish (at sea level) whilst leaving it all connected? Thanks

What tap did you go for, I chose the SS intertap with flow control (a tad expensive, but nice) and using the original SS tap that I got with the kit that fits on the post as a second tap in the door (with shank etc).

Make sure you purge the oxygen out first (most forget) and then pressurise the corny, 30psi will do, then go with your plan of 12psi for a couple of weeks depending on what temperature you are leaving it at, yes leave it all connected and the C02 on as this will absorb into the beer and keep topping up. Look at the carbing chart HERE
