Hi guys

So I finished my first brew in the Fermentasaurus and close transferred to a corny. Trouble is, I have a leak that I cannot find. I attached a spunding valve about 8 hours ago at 13 psi and when I checked this morning, it had dropped to about 4 psi.

The posts are on tight and I see no bubbles when I spray the posts and lid seal so I have no idea where it is coming from. Any suggestions?

I have another keg that I can close transfer to but I'd rather do with the ball-ache.

Cheers

I would personally first rule out the spunding value connection itself.
Remove spunding valve, charge again to 13psi, leave for another 8 hours and check the pressure. Keep in mind CO2 absorption.

If it has dropped dramatically again, then:
Charge to a much higher pressure which will better help you find the leak. Spray again with star san and fine your bubbles.

Hope you sort it.

Pop it in a deep bath. You'll soon see any leak.

Add some bubble bath and you can jump in too.

Some details are missing from your post. Did you prime with sugar, gas it to 13psi from your cylinder then add the spunding valve to relieve pressure as the sugar ferments? If so then what you're seeing is completely normal. Your beer has absorbed the initial head pressure (it will do that within a few hours at the beginning when the beer is flat). It will take time for the yeast to get going again and ferment the sugar to produce more CO2 and therefore pressure for you.

This was my thoughts, unless it was fully carbonated in the first place when transferred from fermenting vessel to corny then the beer will absorb any gas in the head space hence the drop in pressure.
