Hi All,

I have a corny keg which is leaking from the beer out post. I have replaced the o-rings, as well as having removed the posts and cleaned them. I have also tried PTFE tape on the thread of the post, but still getting a very visible leak when i spray with sanitiser.

Any ideas/tips?

Cheers
Grant

From the post. Bottom of.

I seem to have fixed it for now by adding in 2 additional o-rings. One on top of the dip tube and one on the thread that the post sits on.

Not sure if this will hold long term though. Not ideal.

Needing two o-rings makes me wonder - is there an o-ring under the flange of the dip tube?

I bought a couple of reconditioned Cornies a while ago: the posts were strange in that they each had two red O rings, and were less tall than the "standard", single, black O-ringed posts. Two of the four posts were leaking from the poppets. I bought standard type replacement posts, which wouldn't seal at all as they were too tall. The inside depth was too great to contact the top of the dip tubes, so the kegs really did need those lower profile, double O-ring posts.

The dip tubes were also different to AEB ones; the beer out tube being straight with no kink.

These two Cornies were made by Safer in Italy. I found it impossible to get hold of the correct posts for them, but by badgering the dealer I bought the kegs from, he eventually managed to get replacement poppets from his supplier, which fixed my problem. So if your dip tubes are loose within the post housings, I'd suggest you may have incompatible parts from different manufacturers.

PS, I also tried the two O-ring thing on the dip tubes when using the standard, taller posts, but even that wouldn't seal mine. I then went and bought a couple of brand new kegs, which have been fine.
