Evening all,
Have a couple of newbie questions about my first batch... Coopers Wheat Beer....

I've completed the instructions but am a little concerned how its all going - and its only day 2...

The instructions reckoned that the 1st fermentation process could be completed if the fermentation bin was open but i've not kinda gone with that. The lid is only slightly off and is stored in the spare room in a cupboard, temp around 22 deg's.

The 1st couple of days has seem some foam sprout out the top which is what i was expecting - the only problem now is that it looks a little flat - is this normal?

The guy in the shop also reckoned i should leave it ferment for 2 weeks and the bottle it for another 2 weeks.

As this is my first batch i obviously still want something drinkable - so am i doing things right? Do i sit tight and see what happens?

Appreciate any feedback - i'm itching to have something i can drink for New Year at least...

Cheers all

P.

Cheers for that...am looking at batch No.2 already....any suggestions on German Wheat Beer thats reasonably easy to do...

i would get some wb06 dried yeast(much better than kit yeast) and also some dried wheat malt extract and use that instead of sugar , or better still just dried wheat malt extract (i think its made from 50% wheat and 50% barley) and make some extract style .

I'd recommend Brupaks west riding wheat it's a 2 can kit but easy to do and a vast improvement on coopers which I found a bit watery
