Hi,

Put a Coopers Stout on last night, brewed short to 20L, with 1kg of Dark DME added.

When it comes to priming, what sugar am I best using for this brew?

Thanks

Paul

Cheers for the link....

So that's the amount of sugar sorted...but what sugar should I use/would be best

With it being a dark ale, would Demarara best best?

you can do if you want the extra flavour in there, but i'd just go for white sugar. priming is more about getting a job done than adding stuff imo.

the small amount of priming sugar you add will make no difference to the taste or colour.
Its there to make gas...
So for easy of use, just add straight forward Tate and Lyle household granulated suger...
Its free if you nick it from the kitchen !... :D

I use caster because it is easier to get to dissolve in your bottles. Means less shaking of your brew i.e. less oxidising.

I have pure dextrose portioned up 150ml containers, so will just use one of those, adding the suggested amount. :thumb:
