Just put on a second brew, have decided to make a real ale, have used 1kg brewing sugar and 300g golden syrup, smells lush, fingers crossed...... mixed sugar and golden syrup in FV first then added the tin, seems to mixed good this way, what do you lot think

When I first started brewing in the early 1980's, the way beer was made was very much along these lines. The Coopers yeast is way better than what was available then and the ratio of malt to sugar is quite similar, so I think it will be fine.

It will make what used to be called a Pale Ale in those days and it will be good to go if you are patient. I like the Coopers Real Kit.
