I kegged a Coopers Real Ale about 4 weeks ago, plus 3 bottles to see how it was clearing.

Kit was made up with 1kg of brewing sugar as I didn't have any spray malt at the time, fined for 2 days with isinglass and then left for 2 weeks at room temp before moving outside. Household sugar (85g) was used for the secondary fermentation, the three bottles were clear in a day with only a small amount of yeast residue in the bottom.

The beer tastes pretty reasonable, perhaps a little lacking in body which I put down to using just brewing sugar. The only real problem I have is that the beer is pretty lifeless with only a small amount of carbonation. I think I read some while ago that this is a particular trait of the Coopers Real Ale - has anyone else made it?

I've also got a Coopers European Lager coming to the end of fermentation at the moment & hope to bottle this at the end of the week. I used 500g brewing sugar & 500g light spray malt for that one. As soon as that is done there will be a Coopers IPA going into the FV and I'm hoping that these two have a little more life in them.

I think because you've used the finings it will affect the rate of secondary fermentation :?: I think I would either not bother with the finings or leave the bottles/keg in the warm for longer. You probably need to leave them in the warm for longer than a couple of days in any case.

I've read that kegs aren't great for lager if you want it fizzy, unless you get a corny keg.
