Crikey Mick, we joined pretty much the same time, I'm just about to start my 4th kit trying to get my stock up, which I thought was going some, how many have you made now??

i no its only 2 weeks in the cool...

but i opend one of my lagers and its still very cloudy.. .

and it tastes just like what my dog smells like ...
when shes been out in the rain .. :( .

yuk.. :nono:

i hope it gets better than this ...

its awful. .

shouldn't it at least be clear by now .. .

regards mick. :hat:

im being a **** again ...
i tryed 2 more of the lagers last night ...
both still smelt abit strange ...

but heres the thing/s ..
one i put in the fridge on its side to chill for 2 hrs beause there was no standing room ...
the other i just opend as it was from the shed ...

the one i had from the fridge was cloudy ...
like the first one i had...

but the other from the shed was clear ... :thumb: .

so its my falt not the brew...

in fact the first one i tryed ...
i remember putting it in the freezer ON ITS SIDE for half a hour to chill fast ...

i no i tilted it very slow but i now no its me making it cloudy ...

now i see why no one stores there bottles in the fridge on there sides ...

it makes total sense to me now ...

and theres another balls up to come ...

this lager needs 2 glasses when you pour it out as its way to lively...

i looked back in my notes...

and i see i batch primed it with 184g of brewing sugar .. .

im now thinking way way to much sugar...

iv googled it and it seems i could pour it into a jug before the glass...

or try taking the tops off then leave them to stand with cap jut sat on there...
for 2 hrs and re cap...
as its ok when i take the cap off it's only on pouring it goes mental...

what do you think ... .

regards mick...

With a fizzy lager it really needs to be chilled in the fridge before opening. The temperature has a huge impact on how fizzy your lager is when opening/pouring.

I like fizzy lager so I tend to prime with 160-180g of sugar (depending on ingredients) but this is with it in mind that I'll have them in the fridge. Having them at room temp would mean a 20g drop for me and anything in between would be anything in between.

I prefer all my beverages as cold as I can get them.... hence why I have 3 beer fridges :D

thanks scott that makes sence .. :thumb: .
i tend to drink my ales at room temp...

but i do put lagers in the fridge as they tend to taste funny if you dont...

i only have lager as a change now and then ...
but if i find a nice one i would mabehave it more often ... :thumb:

ill not do this lager again ... :? .
