On friday I started my Cooper's Australian Lager kit, instructions followed & everything went according to plan, however the initial fermentation has been very slow, a few tiny bubbles in the airlock but there doesn't appears to be a great deal of pressure building up in the FV. :hmm:

I have recently brewed two ale kits, Wherry & St.Peter's Golden Ale, the fermentation in both of these kits has started off quicker and more vigorously than the Cooper's Lager.

I've never tried a lager kit before and wondered if the fermentation process is slightly different to the ale kits. Am I just being impatient or perhaps I just need to increase the temperature a little to kick start/encourage the fermentation :?: Wait for a week and then give a little stir if still slow?

Any advice appreciated.

Interesting, my Coopers Canadian Blonde was active within 12 hours and the airlock was bubbling away merrily for over 3 days.
Mind you, I had a brew belt on it keeping it at a constant 24C.
I find that kits with sugar / spraymalt added are usually more active than all malt kits.
I'm sure that it will pick up, maybe it needs to be a little warmer :hmm:
