Just done my first quality check on a batch of Coopers IPA- I was really impressed after only one week conditioning in bottles.

Great head, lasted to the end of the pint. Really really good.

There is still a slight "apple" tang with the first smell and taste, but this disappears as you drink it- is this normal? Will this fade as it matures?

Cheers for any advice..

It's still very young so the flavours you get now wont be what you get with the the fully conditioned beer.

Apple notes (especially crisp green apple) can be a fault in the beer, but I cant remember what it's put down to :wha:

Personally I think give it time, im sure it'll be great :thumb:

I did that coopers about 2/3 months ago and still have it as my favourite kit (including all malt ). Its a fantastic kit try be patient ......Then tear into it with pals :thumb:

Hi, somewhere on here I had a thread about an apple taste/smell in a coopers IPA - dont worry though mine completely disappeared within another week and tastes very good after a few weeks maturing :)
