1 coopers brew a ipa
1kg light dry malt extract
500g brewing sugar
100g each of simco, cascade, antanum, amarillo and galaxy

now the first would be ad malt and brewsugar in a pan and boil the do a sort of flame out with 25g of each and dry hop with the rest

or brew the kit as normal then dry hop with 75g of each and hop tea with 25g of each

any advice as always is much appreciated
Thanks Al

500 gram of 5 different hops, overkill and a tad expensive to pimp a one can kit, better off buying a premium 2 can kit, wouldn't bother with the 500 gram of brewing sugar either, without it you'll have around a 1050 OG on 23 litres, just my opinion

I agree that 500g hops is a lot, but if you're like me and cannot get enough of them then this beer should be an absolute corker.

Personally, I wouldn't treat all the hops equally. Ahtanum is low alpha compared to the other ones and gives a great hop flavour, so I would do a mini-boil with them to simulate a late addition in an AG. Assuming they are 6%AA, a 10min boil of 5L with 100g hops and only the 1kg DME will give you about 20 IBUs, and a 5 min boil will give you about 11 IBUs. I'd probably go for somewhere in between. Then I'd dry hop the rest in two stages. Half for 6 days and half for 3 days. Cold crash and put a muslin over the sediment trap if you can, because there is going to be one hell of a lot of hop sludge in there.
