Hello all,

Seasons greetings. I started my first brew over 2 weeks ago and bottled the kit last Friday. I have another Kit and was planning on starting my second brew tomorrow. It is a Coopers Preachers Hefe Wheat Kit. I also have 1Kg of Dry Wheat Spray Malt plus 1Kg of Brewing Sugar. I was going to use the full 1Kg of Spray Malt, and had purchased the brewing sugar for batch priming. I will not need the full bag and was wondering if I should add some of the brewing sugar along with the spray malt, or just use the spray malt. Have any of you brewed this kit before and what would you recommend?

Many thanks,

Damien

Sorry. I should have probably posted this in Beer Kit Brewing Discussion.

You could use the Spray Malt (this is usually half wheat and half Barley, which is what the kit will also likely be) and up to 500g of the brewing sugar.
When doing one of the beer/lager kits from Coopers, 500g DME and 1kg of cane sugar would make a nice pale ale, that you can pimp up with some hops.

Thanks so much for your help. I really appreciate your advice. I’ve held off but will do it tomorrow. Thank you. I will add 0.5 kg of Brewing sugar.
