Hi, just a quickie ;) (and forgive me if this has been asked before) but i've just come home with a can of coopers english bitter and 1Kg brew enhancer 2. Now every kit i've made uses 1Kg of this but the instruction booklet on this says only 500g. Just wanted to check that it is correct before i got on with it, and more to the point what would happen if the full 1Kg was used? a much stronger brew?

That's what i have, Muntons BE2 :)
So it wouldn't cause any other problems with making the brew itself then? (fermenting time/conditioning etc) just make it stronger? Hmmm... may try it then. Won't be doing it until sunday anyway, got no more room until i move the bottles of lager currently occupying my "warm spot" lol

Im sticking my english bitter on soon. Im using 1 kg brew enhancer 1 and 500 gms light dry malt extract.

I have one of these too, I hadn't noticed it says just 500g light DME. I will probably use 500g DME, some sugar and some LME.

Dme is almost always better than sugar. All you gotta know is dme increases body and reduces bitterness, white sugar increases bitterness and decreases body, and be2 ups the abv without affecting either. :)

Avoid white sugar where possible, it sucks.

I think I'd brewed two or three of these before I even realised it was only supposed to be 500g added!!

Usually throw in 1Kg of Medium DME and leave it for two weeks.
